Filmmaker Kevin Donovan has joined Big Fish. His commercials and music videos have garnered international recognition, made his feature film-directing debut in 2002 with the DreamWorks action comedy THE TUXEDO starring Jackie Chan and Jennifer Love Hewitt. With a subtle and intelligent sense of humor, Kevin takes great care in casting, adding an element of the bizarre to any idea. His training as a visual artist gives him the unique ability to sketch his own ideas and bring stories to life even before a frame has been shot. Hailing from Montana, Kevin played football for Montana State University before pursuing his film career. He attended Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, and then moved to New York, becoming a creative at Cliff Freeman and Partners, BBDO, Levine Huntley Schmidt & Beaver and J. Walter Thompson. Kevin’s numerous awards have included five Cannes Lions, and he has had over twenty commercials short-listed at the festival. He won a Silver Lion at Cannes in 2000 for University of California, and in the same year, a Bronze for “The Rant” for Molson Canadian, which is one of the most successful commercials in Canada’s history. He recently won awards at the New York Film Festival for his satirical re-imagining of MARCH OF THE PENGUINS. Kevin’s work has been featured in AdCritic, Marketing, Shots, Boards, and Shoot magazines. His American Heart Association sixty-second spot aired twice in last year’s Super Bowl. Kevin’s commercial clients have included Ford, Pontiac, Toyota, Pepsi, McDonalds, Coca Cola, Lever Brothers, Viagra, Wendy’s, Sharpie, Planter’s Peanuts, Nestea, Cadbury and Wild Aid. Kevin continues to pursue directing and writing, both in features and commercials, and loves to bring his own brand of humorous style to each project.
Director Manolo Celi has joined Big Fish Films for representation in the Southwest US. Born in Caracas, raised in Boston, schooled in LA, Manolo Celi is a storyteller with a love for magical realism and subtle comedy. “We are thrilled to have Manolo on our roster” says Executive Producer Robert Latorre. “He gives us a much needed presence in the Latin commercial community, as well as being an excellent option in the general market.” After working as an agency producer for DDB in Miami, Manolo launched his career as a commercial director with an award-winning campaign for BriteWhite in 2007. He has since helmed campaigns for such brands as State Farm, McDonald’s, Walgreens, Downy, and Time Warner Cable. In addition to his commercial work, Manolo has directed a number of award-winning short films that have played in festivals worldwide. Currently, he is in post-production on his first feature, Tony Tango, slated for release in 2012. Manolo lives in New York City. He is fluent in both English and Spanish.
